Unbrako
Unbrako has developed and maintained
certain manufacturing advantages that continue to set them apart
from all competition. The SPS Unbrako unique features and
benefits such as all of their socket cap screws have forged
heads and hex sockets. Routine specifications mandate cold or
hot-formed heads with all socket cap screws. In all sizes,
Unbrako hex sockets can be forged or machined. Consequently, all
Unbrako socket cap screws heads and their sockets are forged.
During the forging process, the flow lines of the material are
made stronger, and this results in a better installation ability
and a longer product life.
Furthermore, all Unbrako socket cap screws
have rolled threads. The system standard specifications mandate
rolled threads through 5/8 " diameter and for screw lengths
through 4", or respectively with metrics requiring roll threads
through M24 diameter, and product lengths up to 150 mm
inclusive. Unbrako provides that larger products may be rolled,
cut, or ground at the option of the manufacturer. Cut threads
interrupt the grain flow of the material and can cause weakness.
Conversely, roll threading compresses the grain and is a benefit
to product strength. Due to these benefits, all Unbrako cap
screws are roll threaded.
